Probably one of the most well known attractions in San Diego is Balboa Park. This is definitely a must see on your list of things to do in the city and it’s only a couple of minutes from downtown. An urban cultural oasis that sits on 1,200 acres is popular with locals and tourists.
The second week of our stay in San Diego turned out much better than the first. We were on the mend from our colds and ready to explore another Winery!
We had been looking forward to this trip to San Diego since we were asked to do some pet sitting about a month prior. Having just spent three weeks in Wisconsin visiting family and working as we do, on our YouTube channel this website and our respective other professional endeavors. We were excited to enjoy us some California sunsets.
This time we would pass South of Mount Shasta and connect with 1-5 before an interesting stopover in Wolf Creek, Oregon where we stayed in a haunted hotel also famous for being a favorite of Clark Gable and even Jack London. Finally the last day of travel takes us through wine country before arriving at our new travel base in Washington State.
After spending a few days exploring the Mammoth Lakes area we arrived in South Lake Tahoe and more specifically, to the Basecamp Hotel in the afternoon. Our road trip was in the fall and as such we were still in the shoulder season just weeks away from the official ski season to start.
I have to confess that I have been to Convict Lake before, actually it was about a year and a half prior to this trip. I had produced a music video for country music artist Chase Rice and Convict lake played a role in the Road Trip, fishing, skiing, camping adventure themed video.
